Remember those haunted houses where they set up those motion activated decorations that would light up and make loud noises when you passed by; send you running and screaming in the opposite direction? This alternative will spook your trick or treaters but not send them running before you have a chance to unload some of your Halloween candy on them. – Unless they’re arachnophobic….
What You Will Need:
You also need your door to open indoors towards you for this decoration to work.
How To Set It Up:
Glue the string to the back of the spider. Don’t cut the string until after you’ve set everything up. Attach the hook to the top of the outside side of the door frame. Hook the string into the hook.
Bring the string over the top of the door and loosely tie the string to the inside door handle. play around with the length of the the string and where the spider is when the door is closed and when it is open until you like it then tie a permanent knot and cut the string.
Now watch the look on people’s faces as you answer the door and the spider creeps upwards!
